How to get to Halle (Saale)

The closest airport is Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ), which is situated 22km from Halle/Saale.

The train station “Flughafen Leipzig/Halle” is located directly below the check-in terminal.
Trains between Leipzig/Halle Airport and Halle (Saale) central station run roughly every 30 minutes. Alternatively, suburban trains (S-Bahn S 5X) and long-distance trains in direction of Hanover leave Leipzig/Halle Airport and stop in Halle (Saale).

The trip takes 11 minutes and costs approx. EUR 6.50.

How to get to the venue “Audimax”

Hallesche Verkehrs-AG (HAVAG) operates the local street tram. It passes most major attractions downtown and will take you to and from the main train station. Tickets are available at the HAVAG office, vending machines at the stations or inside the tramcars. 1-hour tickets cost EUR 2.30 and day passes cost EUR 5.60.

The most convenient station to exit to the venue is the tram station “Neues Theater” or “Marktplatz”. You can easily walk from “Marktplatz” in 4min (350m) to the venue. You can also exit at the tram station “Neues Theater” and walk 2 minutes (210m).

The closest parking lot to the city centre of Halle is “Hansering car park.” From there, walk north up to Joliot-Curie-Platz. After passing by Joliot-Curie-Platz you will find the University on the left side after about a 100m.  Follow the signs to Audimax, which can easily be recognized by the large-area glazing of the facade (walking distance 6 minutes).
